Inviting nature into the built environment. The biophilic approach was the main framework that guided the architects while they redesigned the ground level of the Carrefour de la Coopération de Granby. The goal: to add a digital banking area and to transform the overall floor into a more welcoming, functional, and friendly space.
In the center, a windowed atrium that floods with natural light offers stunning views of the entrance from the upper floors. The ground level is now more open; circulation is smoother.
Inspired by the famous genius bars, two counter areas were installed to provide users with a personalized and relaxed banking experience. About forty glass-walled offices, state-of-the-art conference rooms and Mute Box were designed to offer the staff pleasant working spaces.
The use of light wood imparts a warm atmosphere to the place, while concrete textures and shades of grey evoke a mineral feel. Amidst natural tones, contrasts of white and black are juxtaposed for a bold and modern look.
