LE PÂTURAGE

Residential

Bolton-Ouest, Quebec, Canada

Completed in 2023

Contractor: Construction Désourdy

Photography: Phil Bernard

Set on the edge of a vast, misty field, this contemporary country house opens up to the dawn like an inhabited landscape. Black steel, graying wood, and natural stone create an architecture that is both rustic and refined, anchored in the territory. At the rear, the pasture stretches as far as the eye can see, paying homage to the calming beauty of the space.

Three separate volumes, connected by delicate glass walkways, form a fragmented silhouette that evokes the farms of yesteryear, while embracing a resolutely modern materiality.

At the front, a long swimming pool reflects the changing sky, while a skylight crosses the roof to invite light into the heart of the house.

The glass walkway acts as a breath of fresh air between the volumes. It frames the landscape, allowing it to penetrate the circulation space and transforming each movement into a moment of contemplation. Between inside and outside, the house opens up, silently, to the rhythm of the pasture.

A project that combines silence, landscape, and architecture.
