The rustic aesthetic and warmth of aged wood are the driving forces behind the Nordet project. Nestled in the heart of a wooded area in the Eastern Townships, on the shores of a tranquil lake, the house is a true haven of peace.

The wood displays variations in colour and texture that give the entire structure a unique character. The vertically laid boards blend perfectly with the tree trunks that surround the house, now bare in winter.

Walls have been replaced by large windows and glass doors to create a sense of transparency throughout the house and allow plenty of light to flood in.

At nightfall, minimalist, discreet, and well-positioned exterior lighting hugs the structure of the house and highlights its unique materials. The metal roof, the cladding on some of the walls, and the pewter-coloured windows add a contemporary touch to the whole.

No matter the time of day or season, Nordet offers a peaceful and enchanting setting, where the architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding nature. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle to the fullest.
