Optima Aero needed to move to the next level. The owners of this flourishing company, specializing in the field of helicopter engine reconditioning, wanted to equip themselves with a headquarters with bold architecture where they could house their offices and masterfully welcome their international clientele.

The inspiration came from a sketch in two strokes of the pencil, a drawing half compass rose, half turbine, representing a propeller's rotation. The gesture was made; the project concept was born! Simple lines with dynamic angles, with, as a focal point, a monumental spiral staircase evoking an aerospace component.

A luminous, lightweight white aluminum cladding adorns the headquarters. Occupying the northern section of the building, this area is enhanced by a discreetly set-back adjacent wing clad in dark brick and black steel. The contrast is striking, each section lending strength and presence to its opposite.

Upon arrival, the immense staircase traverses the space and ascends to the roof, where greenhouses and terraces share the area. In the lush garden grow heirloom tomatoes, Montreal melons, hot peppers, and other delicacies.

The vast, fully windowed entrance hall serves as both a reception area and a central hub. It houses utility spaces, an outdoor terrace, and bright workshops ideal for precision work, where entire helicopters are stored and thousands of engine parts are meticulously arranged. The upper floor, dedicated to office work, is organized around a large central room. A mezzanine overlooking the entrance hall features a lounge area that also serves as a kitchen. Optima Aero is an exceptional place, suspended between sky and earth, where inspiration flows freely.
